Villa La Entrada

Villa La Entrada is a single-story villa located in Cabrera, María Trinidad Sánchez, on the north coast of the Dominican Republic.

Cabrera sits on the north coast, a shoreline quite different from the eastern resort corridor: more cliff than flat beach, lower density and a different climate. For a single-story villa that changes the approach from the outset, because the land and the views drive more of the design than on a flat lot inside a gated resort.

Building outside the large resort communities has one advantage and one demand. The advantage is that less private regulation constrains the design. The demand is that utilities, access and site logistics do not come solved: they have to be verified before buying the lot, not once construction has started.

The project is under construction. As in all of them, the lot is in the owner’s name from day one, payments are made against measured work that the owner certifies, and progress is sent in photos and video every week. The delivery date and the delay penalty are written into the contract.
